Task Force

The Task Force range were introduced in 1993 and removed from the Britains catalogue in 1997. Many of the figures and vehicles are based upon earlier Deetail ranges with some modifications and changes to paint schemes.

The figures initially had green bases but this was soon changed to black, apart from the Arctic figures that uniquely have grey bases. The mortar sets were all produced with green bases.

In 1993 when the figures were initially introduced they were only available for sale individually from trade box 7601. 2 Colour schemes were available. Photo below from the 1993 catalogue.

Colour Variants

The French Foreign Legion Figures can be found moulded in 2 different shades of blue. It is assumed that the lighter blue version on the right is earlier than the slightly darker colour on the left.

plastic colour variations

The French Foreign Legion Officer figure can occasionally be found without the red trousers.

Photo below shows some of the available paint variations on the Arabs.

There is also a variation with the rifle that both the foot and mounted Arabs carry, there is a long version and a short version – some examples are shown below.

SuperDeetail Hospital

The Hospital range was introduced in 1983 and removed from the Britains catalogue in 1986. The figures were part of the Super Deetail range which were made by over moulding different coloured plastics, this removed the need for painting figures moulded in one colour which was how Deetail figures were produced.

The range consists of two nurses, one nursing sister, two doctors, one orderly and six patients. Not all of the figures have a base due to the nature of the pose they are in.

Except for the Helicopter – set 7861, all of the boxes feature a night and day box, a slider in the back changes the view in the window from day to night, and a nurses badge.

Box detail from set 7852 showing assembly and the day & night slider.

Sets 7851,7852,7853, & 7854 all include a bed, cabinet and chair.
